Tyres

How often should I check my Tyres?
Tyres play an important role in your vehicle’s road-handling performance. You should monitor the tyre pressure and tread, this should be checked at least once a month. It’s also recommended that tyres are rotated every 5-10,000 kilometers to achieve the maximum life.

What signs should I look out for?
Check for abnormal tyre wear which may indicate incorrect pressure or a wheel alignment problem. Under inflated tyres result in increased road friction, which will mean that the tyres will wear faster and require move fuel to run the car.

How can I take care of my tyres?
Always try to keep your tyres inflated correctly. You should inflate the car’s tyres to your manufacturer’s recommendations. Be sure that all four tyres are of the same tread pattern.

When should I replace my cars tyres?
All tyres have wear indicator strips molded into the tread across the tyre. When these are showing in the tread it’s time to get new tyres. Also examine the tyre tread depth is satisfactory, a tread depth less than a match-head is unsafe and illegal.

What about the spare tyre?
Be sure that this tyre is suitable for use should it be called upon and that it should not be driven at speeds above 80 kph or for distances exceeding 100km when used.

Remember – driving with mismatched tyres is dangerous, to provide the best grip you should have four identical tyres on your car.
